leaf spring help

Hey Guys, I want to put some new leaf springs on my 66 and not sure which are better for ride and performance. The stock 3 leaf seems fine but would a 4 leaf be best for normal street driving with some heavy foot fun. I've heard the 5 leaf springs will make my car ride like a wagon and I don't want that.

Re: leaf spring help

I got 5 leaf springs from JC Whitney a couple years back. Man it made the car sit way up. Finally took a leaf out to get down where I wanted it and it seems to ride pretty nice now. So I say 4

Re: leaf spring help

Mustangs plus has leaf springs for the fairlane. I bought mine there. cost me 250 a pair, but I got the 5 leaf with the reverse elets so I could lower my car. Yes your car will be stiff with 5 leafs. I think 4.5 leafs are a great comprimise, for the performance/street car. Also springs and things sells poly bushing kits for the 66-67 fairlane

Re: leaf spring help

Eaton Detroit spring, they have all the Ford specs on their computers so they can design a set for you
They did up H.D heavy duty front coils & 4 leaf rears for me,
car sits just perfect, but, i did need 1" rear lowering blocks
