Re: Help with a T5 into a 64 Fairlane

This has me thinking a bunch. Looks so clean and simple. I do have a few questions though.
1)What is the benefit of the quadrant over the simple clevis?
2)Why do you have to loop the cable so far forward? Is this due to minimum bend radius and conversion to a pull type clutch fork?

Re: Help with a T5 into a 64 Fairlane

The benefit of using the quadrant is that you can use a stock mustang cable(available about anywhere) without any modifications, such as threading the pedal end. I chose this method because the math was already done as to length of travel ect. I have nothing against the clevis setup, I simply chose the quadrant.
As for the long sweeping loop of the cable, Its what you get with a stock mustang cable. Its length actually comes in handy to route around barriers such as headers and exhaust, motor mounts ect. I am sure a shorter cable may be used and routed about anyway that would work.
I hope others chime in, these are just my simple minded thoughts.

If so did you modify the crossmember or buy one? If bought, from who?

Cable or mechanical or hydraulic clutch actuation?

I've contacted DarkHorse Performance several times. Says he can help but never gets back in touch so I can get parts fro,m him.

Thanks for any help.

Running a 289 with hooker 6134's also.
