new coil springs for my 66

Hey Guys, I'm looking for some new 1" drop front coil springs with a low spring rate or maybe a progressive spring rate. I don't want to cut my stock springs since that'll make them stiffer and I want to keep them stock height just incase for later if needed.
So is there such a spring out there for my 66...let me know if you guys have some info one way or the other.

Re: new coil springs for my 66

You need to visit a local spring shop.

Friend of mine got a 1967 Mustang with a 351 under the hood. He first tried standard 289 V-8 springs and flat could not get the car out of the garage it was hanging so low.

Then he got some 390 springs. That set the nose aiming upwards. He used some even later year of vehicle that came with same engine. It then aimed correctly.

My thought is that you need to find out the aim you want, then the same engine as used, and then locate some sagging same year springs.

Wm.

I just took my stock set out, They were orginal and sagged over time. The car rode fine and looked good with the old springs. If you are interested in my old ones let me know here is a pic of how it sat.

Thanks!! Maybe one day I will be able to afford paint. Will have to stop hot rodding first.

Try Quikor Suspension out of Oregon. I have a set of 1 1/2" drop springs in my 64. THey probably build them for a 66/67.

No need for custom springs!!!! 66-67 springs are the same as 67-70 mustang springs. So a pair of 620lb 67 mustang springs will give you 1 inch drop. I am actually running 66 mustang 620 lb coils in my 67 for an even more aggressive drop. Should be able to get a pair around 50-70 bucks

I got a set from Global West...the drop was 1 1/4" to 1 1/2", and they were right from my FE with A/C. They have a few to choose from on their site...
