Hard to find part soon available

If you have a 62-64 Fairlane and are looking for the rear leaf spring centering washers that go inside the rubber insolators, they will soon be available through the Fairlane club of America. Contact the editor at www.fairlaneclubofamerica.com

Most of the originals have rusted out and up until now replacements were not avaiilable.

No. this goes inside the middle of the rubber isolators that clamp around the leaf springs. Here is a picture. The parts are circled in yellow. Some people have eliminated the rubbers, but for those who need the parts, they are soon available.

Re: Hard to find part soon available

Thanks for the info. If someone is going to push the car hard and it is no longer stock I would suggest getting rid of the rubber. It makes a big differance. That is a part that even on a rust free car becomes...rusty.

Re: Hard to find part soon available

I think that part of the reason the rubber isolators get such a bad rap, is that the inner steel spacer is gone on most cars or was taken apart at one time and not replaced. With these pieces gone, it allows alot of unwanted movement. Now that the spacers are available, it gives people a choice.

Re: Hard to find part soon available

What year is your car? In 66 they went to 2 1/2" wide springs. Same as the mustang.
