250 inline six troubles

I have a 250 inline six in my 1969 ford fairlane. Having a bit of troubles finding parts for it lately. I plan to rebuild it and custom fabricate somethings on it after awhile. Thought right now I am just trying to get it back to running. I bent the oil pan up and it's pinned against the crank. Problem being, is having trouble finding an oil pan for it. I have searched everywhere. heard the 200 oil pan won't work for it. Anyone know where I can find one? great thanks would be appreciated. Along with tips or ideas on performance mods on the engine also. I'm used to workin on v8's, but this is a special car to me so want to make it something special

i am selling a ford 250 inline 6 out of a 1976 ford maverick, the engine had 55000 miles on it when it was pulled. the engine runs great, has been painted and has a ton of new parts. it has a new carbuater, plugs, wires, fuel pump, distributer cap, high rpm fan, coil, valve cover gasket., oil pan gasket, power steering pump, and alternator. it comes with the c4 transmission that shifts and works great. $350 call 641-691-9821

Re: 250 inline six troubles

I can't understand why you'd have probs finding parts. This is a very common engine. There should be zillions of them in the junkyards. You may want to get an oil pump too, since the pickup tube may be bent/kinked or broken.

As far as performance parts, Clifford Research, Summit, Jegs, all should have a good selection of stuff. Clifford specializes in 4 and 6 cylinder stuff. I'm sure there are other sites or businesses (Inliners.com) that do likewise.

That deal from FE sounds pretty inviting........
