'66-'67 Ford Falcon/ Fairlane Differences

I am totally confused. I am looking at a 1967 Falcon station wagon, and it has two headlights in front like a Falcon, but it says Fairlane on the quarter panels. This car is totally original and is a one owner car. I have also seen Falcon station wagons that appear to have Fairlane looking tail lights. What is the deal? Can anyone shed any light on the differences between '66-'67 Fairlanes and Falcons. Also what is the deal with Rancheros, because I have a '66 Ranchero with a Falcon front end and a '67 Ranchero with a Fairlane front end. ???????

Re: '66-'67 Ford Falcon/ Fairlane Differences

The 67 was restyled styled in Fairlane lines...

The 66 Was still Falcon styled, and the 66-67 front ends were similar, the rest was different.

Re: '66-'67 Ford Falcon/ Fairlane Differences

So why am I looking at a 1967 Falcon wagon that says Fairlane on the quarters?

I am pretty sure the front sheet metal interchanges. Body lines even match up!

Re: '66-'67 Ford Falcon/ Fairlane Differences

Because the 1967 FALCON was TRULY made in the Fairlane body style.
They redesigned it to reflect the higher sales the Fairlanes were getting..., but kept the Falcon name to lend BOTH sales reputations on one car....
