++ Dash Lights out on 1965 Fairlane 500 ++

Hey everyone,

A few years back my dimmer switch or headlight switch started acting shady. It would no longer dim the dash lights and would no longer turn the dome light on when rotated into position. The headlights worked fine just know dash lights. So I just got around to taking the gauge housing and bezel out of the dash. I changed the 2 bulbs I thought may be the problem and changed the fuse. Well I put everything back together and found I still have no dash lights and some how I moved the temp gauge pointer out of wack now it sits at the E and doesnt move.

Could the dimmer switch be the problem? Does it control those lights? All bulbs were fine and fuses were not blown. I can replace the dimmer switch that way I know it should work. Any input greatly appreciated.

That dash was pretty sketchy, my first one lots of wires. Guess I get to do it again.
