1966 Ford Fairlane Convertible
1966 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible
Originally was AC car with 289/C4 Column shift. Car is currently still a work in progress but is very close to completion with almost all parts needed to complete.
87 302HO, Professional products CrossWind intake (Air Gap style), Holley 750cfm with vacuum secondaries and manual choke (still need choke cable), Roush World Windsor Sr. heads with roller rockers, MDS 6AL with MSD 8.8mm plug wires, Hedman Headers, March Performance billet aluminum pulleys, Derale 17 inch electric fan, Lokar cable pedal and transmission kick down cable, stainless steel hoses. Still needs a little tuning of the carb to get maximum performance out of this engine. I do not have any of the original AC parts but the box is still there for a possible conversion.
C4 transmission with B&M Quicksilver shifter – was told by previous owner that the transmission was rebuilt and had a shift kit installed. The car was not yet running when I bought it. 9 Inch rear end with 3.25 posi, front power disc brakes from Master Power Brakes, rear drums, lowered front coil springs from Eaton Detroit Spring – lowered approx 1-1 ½ inches
New American Autowire Highway 22 series wire kit installed
Body is in excellent condition with a Fiberglass 427 style hood and fiberglass trunk lid. This car has ZERO rust and has been completely redone. The underside of the car is immaculate. Paint and bodywork were done by previous owner and are in really good shape. I have only found a few spots that need touch up, but these are small nicks around the doors and one small spider-web on the trunk lid.
I have all glass for the car. I just had a new windshield installed and the stainless windshield trim has been polished and installed. The other glass will probably need a little polishing prior to installation. I also have all of the window regulators but they still need to be installed.
Interior – Custom installed seats from a 2002 BMW convertible. Front seats are 10-way power with power lumbar and the back seat is original but has been recovered, custom built gauge panel with Stewart Warner gauges, dash pad will need to be dyed but is in almost excellent condition with only a few minor cracks in the speaker hole area. New top needs to be installed, but I have a new top in the box as well as a new back glass window. New Black GT door panels and new kick panels. I have the carpet as well, but it was not stored in a box so it might not have that brand new look anymore.
I pretty much have everything to finish the car except for some of the weatherstripping and some other minor parts. I am only looking to sell because my wife lost her job a few months ago and I am tired of trying to work and second job and miss out on so much of my three year old sons time. I would be willing to consider a partial trade + cash scenario for the right project car 67/68 Mustang or 66/67 Fairlane hardtop. I am asking $17,000 in current condition with all parts included. If it does not sell for that price I have it scheduled to go into the shop in a few weeks to finish the interior and will reconsider selling at that time, but at a higher asking price. I have multiple pictures as well as a video of the car running. Some can be seen in the Makin Progress section or you can email me and I will send you a link.
