New... question about 1965 Falcon convertible.

Hi, I'm new here...

I'm looking at buying a 1965 Falcon Futura Convertible with a 302 in it... basically I don't know what kinda price I should be paying for it, so if you could give me an idea...

-Red paint, clearcoat is HORRIBLE but the paint itself should be mostly salvageable.
-Frame is decent, not the best but not falling apart
-body is decent, not sure on repairs to it
-Auto
-Interior is nice, not perfect but not bad
-top is decent

I really would like this car, but like I said, I don't know what it's worth... can any of you give me an estimate? Thanks.

Welcome to the board. About 2500 to 3000 if you got to do a lot of work to it to make it right maybe not that much. It may have underlying problems that you mite not find out tell you look deeper. Don’t be so obsessed with the car that you buy and they wish you had not later. Look it over again real good and objectively.

New... question about 1965 Falcon convertible.

If it had a good paint job and ran good, I'd imagine it would sell between $5000 - $7000, even more if everythings in good shape. Since the paint is toast and it sounds like it needs some other attention, you would be safe paying what coolfalcon said. Maybe a little more if you think it doesn't need that much work.

How much is the owner asking?

The Owner told me $4600... I thought that seemed a bit high for the condition so I figured I'd ask the experts.

On a side note, there's a red 66 Mustang around town that's in GREAT shape, I think it's got the 6-cyl though... but that car's owner is asking $3900. I might just use that as a comparison for the Falcon owner (if I don't buy it, that is... it's NICE.)

Thats a good idea on the mustang with the 6. You should see some of the hack job on body work and patched frame stuff that people are trying to get big dollars for. Its buyer be ware. Keep looking you will find something thats good.
