what is the best way to adjust a steering box on a 64 Falcon V8 sprint

adjusting a steering gear box
Is it power or manual? Either way, there's an adjusting nut on the box itself. Loosen the locknut, then turn the adjusting nut clockwise until you have taken up all the play in the steering, then re-tighten the locknut.

It was backing out the nut was lose. oh by the way it is manual no more play in the streering wheel
