Comet Wagons

Anybody have any idea how many 64 Comet Villager Wagons were produced? The car in particular we have found has a 289 4V C4 combo in it.............................

Dont know those figures, but I knew a guy who had some strange Comets at his house.
They were Mercury "Ranchero's" or Comet ute's, or whatever....but they were essentially just like the Ford Ranchero with all Mercury Comet sheetmetal. Supposedly from Canada....very interesting vehicles.

I'm not sure about those Comet Rancheros being made in Canada. The front "clip" of a Comet is almost a bolt on to a Falcon so it wouldn't be too hard to make a home brewed Comet Ranchero.I have seen a few over the years here in Southern California. The early Rancheros are pretty cheap and a 4 door Comet would make a good donor.Na, too many projects as it is.The front end of a '64 Comet on a '64-'65 Ranchero would be pretty cool though.

Yeah, the front is a bolt ot, but this guys vehicles also sported the quarter panels, and wagon style tailgate with the Comet tail lights, and the strip of aluminum trim that goes across the back. The dash and interior were also Comet items. Its possible that it could be cloned, would make an intersting car, eh?
This guy also had a 1964 Comet 2 Door Panel wagon just like the Falcon Panel wagons. Either way, they're something you dont see everyday!

There were 1,980 comet villagers produced in 1964. Check out this site. http://www.hotcomets.com/info/production.html
