Need help!

Howdy!

Does anyone explain to me how did they relocate the leaf springs on their car.
I have a 1962 Falcon that I would like to fit bigger tires in the rear.

Thanks,

Terry

I used the kit from Crites. It's kinda hard to explain without pics, but it involves some welding of the new brackets inside the frame rails and re-positioning the spring perches on the housing. (Crites also recommends narrowing your housing 2" on each side, but that's optional) It's no big deal providing you have access to a lift. It'd be kinda tough going on your back in the garage/driveway, though.

Thats kinda tuff on the early birds there isent much of a wheel house in there for any real size tires. You could stretch the wheel houses a little and relocate the springs depending on how much work you want to do.

what you have to do is build a rear subframe. you can get what you need from a variety of places. the other thing you need to do is build wheel tubs.
