Hello
You can build anything to run in that range, but cubes rule in all cases - especially with a heavy vehicle. One reason I was (still do a little) considering the 400 swap is the availability of 400 cores for replacements. I can get 351C's out here, but 400's are just everywhere. I ID'd 22 in one yard alone earlier this year. Many appear untouched, 3 still had the air cleaner on and all the hoses hooked up. The short block I have now is a stock bore and was a freebe. The wife's afraid of it - she knows what "free" motors end up costing us. Since I like to race a lot, the stroker 351C is more economical than the 400 when you count in the trans adapter, special flywheel, custom rods, etc. Still, it's tempting. If I find one of the 75-77 cars with a 351M and a C4, which would give me the adapter housing needed, I might revisit the project.
