71 Comet same as 71 Maverick?

I've been calling around the yards and found a guy who says that he has a 71 Comet 5 lug rear end.

On the 71 Comet 5 lug.. will this work? The yard I'm speaking with said that the 71 Maverick and Comet were the same body that year and that all of it should be the same size..

Can someone please verifiy this to be true?

Thanks

Monarch & Granada are the same as is a Versailles, except it has a 9" in it. I thought '73 was the first year Mavs & Comets were the same, isn't a '71 Comet the sam as a Montego? I know a Fairlane is the same as a Torino... Someone set ME straight

Comet/Mav - all the same. My front disks came from a 74 Comet and the fronts on the Mustang came from a 76 Mav - same cars except for trim. The Falcon "evolved" into the Maverick in 71. Or maybe the Falcon cell split in mid 70 and one grew up a Mav and the other grew up a Torino. You can never really control what your kids are going to do.
