1970 1/2 Falcon Potential Purchase

Today an old friend told me that he was ready to part with his 9K mile 1970 1/2 429 SCJ 4 spd, 4:30 car. This has been hanging for the last 10 years. What would be a fair price for the car. What should I look for when checking it out. He has thrown me a number and it was the same number he put out there four years ago. Claims to be the second owner and has all the original stuff. Even has the factory air in the original tires.

Any good sites to get additional information. Production numbers, options available and so on.
