air cleaner

Question for roundbodies. What kind of clearance is there with a 302 and a performer style intake with 600 carb for the air cleaner? Dont know how high the engines sits yet as its not yet installed. Wanna buy the air filter but I need to know if there are clearance issues. Thanks

This is a 289 with a vic Jr so a perfromer would set a little lower. So there should be no problem for you.

Thanks for the pic. What radiator do you have in there? What water pump and fan combo are you running? what kind of clearance is there between radiator and fan? Thanks.

302 in my '60 with Stealth intake (dual plane) and a Holley 600 CFM. I still have about an inch or so of clearance with this 3 x 14" Edelbrock air cleaner. I also have a 3/4 inch spacer on top of the carb to clear the air cleaner housing.

Stock chrome water pump pully stock 4 blade fan about 1.5 away from rad. Stock 289 aluminum water pump.
