3 on the tree ??

My dad has a 63 conv. with a 6 cyl and 3 on the tree. Problem is the shifter in the column is terribly loose. I think he has a hose clamp on it to tighten it up. Is there any parts I could put in it or where do you find another column? Thanks for any info.

Do you mean the shifter handle is loose where it attaches to the shift collar? Or do you mean the shifting pattern is just sloppy feeling? If its the latter, I can say that when my car was 3 on the tree, it was definitely a very loose feeling shift pattern. If its the collar, I know that Autokrafters is selling replacement collars for 63 Fairlanes, maybe they have them for the falcon, or at least the rubber boot that insulates the connection. good luck -joe
