Falcon Fuel Consumption

G'day guys. I'm new to this forum, having recently being converted from the Hot4s forum. I never realised this place existed, thank god for good friends.

I'm actually hoping to buy myself a 74 Ford Falcon XB Coupe within the next 12 months and I'm just starting to do my research. I've been in love with this car since before I can remember. One thing that slightly scares me though. The 351C is a BIG engine. I was wondering how much fuel she burns per 100KM? Anyone got any idea's? Its irrelevat, because if I buy one and have to walk its worth it. I'd just like some heads up regarding that.

G'day mate, and welcome to FM! You'll find some of the nicest guys on the web on this site.

You probably know this, but the Falcon stopped production in the US in 1970 if you count the big, rebadged Torino of that year. Most of the guys posting to this particular Falcon post are talking about their US Falcons, and so when we hear '70-something, X-something "Falcons" it doesn't compute. Except for that bitchin' Mad Max car. And none of them came with a 351C. You'll probably get a lot more feedback on how a 351C performs in the All Ford Tech board. Lot's o' Cleveland lovers here.

Welcome!

The 1974 Ford Falcon XB Coupe is the car that became that bitchin Interceptor from mad max. *grins* Why do you think I want one so bad? Replica Interceptor here I come.. for the record. I figured out that the 351C uses about 17 litres per 100km.

Kinda disapointing, the only damned Australian site I could find that was decent enough is a 4 cylinder thing.. not my scene. Still, someone has gotta teach you Americans about the greatness of the falcon

You guys get some of the best production cars down there. All sorts of cool Fords, Pontiacs, Holdens (?), and except for a handful of nice cars, we're stuck with 4 bangers and turbo'd Mitsubishis and other nonsense. It looks like we'll be experiencing a resurgence of rear-wheel powered V8 cars up here soon though. Good luck on the search for the '74 Falcon.

Try this Forum:

Heaps of people to discuss XA-XC Falcons...Also heaps of mad max replica sites out there.

A good original looking Falcon Hardtop i s hard to beat...don't need to stick fibreglass all over it!
