FYI: NHRA recommends...

1/8 mile ET X 1.563380282 = 1/4 mile ET

(But I do like the formula used in the calculator link previously posted! At least it is closer to NHRA's posted 8.90 = 5.60 times than their own formula!)

Re: 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile times

Hey guys,

I kinda made this formula up, but its easy to remember at least lol.

(1/8 et x 2)/ 1.3 = 1/4 ,

(8.2 x 2)/ 1.3= 12.6153

it usually calculated maybe .1-.2 faster but its good enough for an idea and easy to remember

All these math formulas can not predict a true 1/4 mile time though because the gearing of the car or MANY other factors will alter the true 1/4mile. For instance my car did 8.2, but I dont think have the gearing to follow through the 1/4 with the calculated 12.6-12.8, im thinking it will do 13.0

A turbo car may run slower on the 1/8 just due to boost pressures off the line being low but it will make up for it on the 660-1320ft mark
