How do you remove a 65 falcon steering box?

My manual steering box has be worn out for a couple of years now. It is not even street legal at this point. I wan't to remove the steering box and have it rebuilt. How do you go about removing the box? I know that you need a pitman arm puller, But do you need any other special tools? How long should it take to remove? I would really like to tackle this job by myself, But don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks once again.

It isn't much of a job, about an hour. You may need some sort of puller to remove the steering wheel. They can be difficult to remove without one.

Pull the steering wheel and pitman, remove the bolts holding the box to the rail, and it should fall out. You may have to remove the steering column so that the box can get enough angle to drop out. I can't remember how it works on a stock falcon.

I'm not too sure how long it will take but the pittman probably doesn't need to come off. No special tools needed except the steering wheel puller. A friend recommended this place for a good reasonably priced rebuild. It seems they will remove the pittman for ya. Give them a try.
