how to narrow a rear, been into cars for years but never got to the point of narrowing a rear till now years ago everything was available for a song now you need second mortgage. It can't be all that hard to do

You need a tool to keep the housing in line as it's welded. I made one at work for free but you need a lathe to do it.

You will need a few things, a housing alignment jig, a way to straighten housings, because they are all bent, and a basic undestanding of all the housings. There are centered pinion housings, centered pot housings, and a few other oddballs out there. You have to know what you are starting with in order to end with what you want, it is not as simple as narrowing a housing, because there are alot of mwasurements that will affect the outcome. PM me if you want a basic lesson, I have been narrowing and building housings and rearends for 19 years, and I have learned a little.

well maybe it as easy as I thought,but we have a real good rear guy round here, maybe I sould go see him before I grab my sawzall and stick welder,could save a rear
