Crites Leaf Spring Relocation Kit

Hopefully I'm not the only one who can't find a picture of this kit on their website. Can anyone explain what all is included in the kit? I know you have to move or notch the fuel tank, but is there anything else that is needed? Has anyone in here made their own relocation kit?

Crites Leaf Spring Relocation Kit

I make my own kit which is basically like the Mopar spring re-location kit. I have done it on on several Falcons and Comets, and it is by far superior to the Crites kit. I installed one Crites kit, and I didn't like the fact that the springs ended up so far inboard. With the Mopar kit, you actually have to notch the frame rails, and the spring ends up inline with the frame rails, so the car does not end up "tippy".

Crites Leaf Spring Relocation Kit

Good morning F15

did you ever do a 63 round body? I am looking at relocating the springs and doing a mini tub on mine. I believe I saw some pics of a project you did. you came straight back from the front frame rails with a longitudinal piece and then a cross peice( or kicker ) to tie into the rear frame rail. This cross peice served as the attachment point for your spring brackets.

But the above does not sound like what you are describing with the Mopar kit????

What does that look like? Do you have any pics of that?

Thank you
Jim

I have done '64 and '65 Falcons and Comets, which are basically the same as a '63. The work you are describing above was the '66 Falcon in my signature pic.(I think) I might have some pics of a Mopar kit installed on a Dart that I did. I will check and see and post them if I do.

On a side note:

I am putting in a Mav rearend in next week. I would like to get your opionion on drilling the dowel locating hole in the shock mount plates so that I can scoot the rearend back for a bigger dia slick.

You will also have to re-drill the spring pad the same amount as the shock plate, but it will work, I have moved them back as far as 1".

I welded in a crites kit on my 64' it's not as nice as F-15's work but it works. Pretty strait forward install, Lots of room but you also have to notch the gas tank on the drivers side to clear the rear spring hanger. Also the front spring mounts are very narrow and you will have to do some fabrication if you want to run a cal-trac type traction device. the limiting factor for room now is the inner fender well.
