Where can I find a parts list to convert a 62\' falcon to a V8?

I've got a 62' falcon with a 144 six and 3 speed on the tree. The car is solid but it's my daily driver and it seems almost unsafe how little power it has. I was wondering if you guys knew of place where I can find all the necessary to swap to a small block. Also I would like to keep the manual trans but I know the little three speed wouldn't hold up very long, not to mention bolt up to a 289 or 302. Would it be easier to use a T-5 or toploader? I forgot to mention I swapped the rear to an 8" so it's ready for the conversion.

Thanks for the help

You need the left and right V8 frame brackets, intermetiate mounts, and rubber motor mounts. Optionaly, look at getting a V8 belly bar. Everything is available at the site listed above.

The T5 swap is a popular upgrade. The downside is tha the shifter comes up through the floor where there is a structural member. You can get an S10 T5 tailshaft that will pit the shifter closer to where the factory floor shifter went. Look at www.moderndriveline.com and T5 swap info.

That's only the beginning. Probably will want to upgrade your steering and suspension, you'll need a new radiator, carb linkage, exhaust, driveshaft, transmission, bell housing and clutch setup, fuel lines, crossmember, a lot of patience, time and money. If its a really straight car; do it. If not give it some thought. You can make that '6' run strong.

I agree with the above post very much. But he forgot: a complete rear end including springs, and brakes.

If I was not so far along with my Ranchero, I would go with a 250ci 6cyl and SROD trans.

There is deffinately a lesson to be learned when doing this. Be prepared to do some fabricating when doing this right.
