More pics of car painted last Friday.

The car is being water sanded and then it will be buffed. I can't wait till the chrome is put on. My restorer said the car looks like one of those "Hot Wheel" toy cars.

Re: Let the painting begin.

That is coming along nicely. I was really close to using that color on my 62 but the wife really wanted to keep it the original color. I'll be where you are in a couple of weeks, progress wise that is.

Re: Let the painting begin.

Please give me your truthful opinions. How many like the car with the black top as opposed to the car being all white with just the red pin stripping. I ask because my wife brought this up? She who must be obeyed! Thanks

Re: Let the painting begin.

I like it. I can't quite decide if the red stripe around the bottom of the black is too much though.

In some of the pictures, it looks like one red stripe too many, in others it looks just right.

I like the black top though. Looks good.

The color I chose was cool vanilia. It's the same color off white that PT cruisers and Chrysler 300's have. The top will be painted black so it will be a two tone. Chip Foose doesn't have anything on my restorer. lol.

Here's a few more pics which includes my 260 engine. Everything is coming along fine and I made a slight change regarding the painting. Let's see if anyone can pick up on it from the first pics I posted.

Very nice, wished my paint work was at the stage you are at. Great project, what color or colors for the interior?

Re: Let the painting begin.

It will get there you just have to be patient. The interior is going to be black. Btw, that motor is not a 260 like the emblem says, it's a 408 stroker. I'm old school and back in the day we would have 427's in a nice little fairlaine but the tag would be a 390 or 289.

That's what I thought but then I just respond to what I see and read. You said "Here's a few more pics which includes my 260 engine. Everything is coming along fine and I made a slight change regarding the painting. Let's see if anyone can pick up on it from the first pics I posted. " I figured you changed your mind again? Senior moment? Nothing wrong with old school.
