Talking Let the painting begin.

Here are some photos of the car being painted.

The color I chose was cool vanilia. It's the same color off white that PT cruisers and Chrysler 300's have. The top will be painted black so it will be a two tone. Chip Foose doesn't have anything on my restorer. lol.

Re: Let the painting begin.

I too like your color choice. How are you splitting the colors top and bottom like this

or did you mean you were just going to paint the top black?

Re: Let the painting begin.

No ras, just the top will be black and not the hood like the picture you posted. And at the back (the bottom of the rear glass) where the drip rail hits the bottom I will separate the black from the white with a painted red pin striping that will follow the back glass to the other drip rail on the passenger side. Oh, and another question? What kind of electric fan would you recommend to cool the motor? Thanks

Sounds nice, looking forward to seeing the finished project.

The back page on the forum have a lot of information on them. Before I joined FM or even built my car I spent countless hours reading all of these pages from the very begining. I copy and pasted any articals of intrest, some times whole pages or articles from FM in addition to saving the links so tghat I could come back and read them again for reference.
I do not have any experience with any other fans other than the ones I purchased. I bought them because of their split configuration and high air flow, they seemed best suited to fit my application and they have a great reputation. I'm sure everyone here has their favorite. As I have said before a single fan would not work for me because of a conflict between the fan motor housing and my pulley assembly.
I could not tell you which fan to get because I have no idea what space you have to work with with the raidator and pulley assembly you have sellected.
I would recommend a fan that covers as much of the radiator surface as you can manage, a puller type fan at that, and the use of a shroud.

The rest of the car will be painted cool vanilla tonight. The color of the pin stripping will be candy apple read and my painter said a pint of that stuff cost just over a hundred bucks.

Ok on the picture of the back where the gas hole is I have a question. The little lip below the gas hole is there suppose to be a length of rubber that runs about 3 feet or so just where the bumper will go?
