where is the gas tank vent tube?

i was looking for the vent tube on my 65 comet and i don't see one. i looked on my 63 galaxie and there is long tube that is vented to the outside of the trunk. the comet does have a vented gas cap. just wondering if a vented gas cap is enough of a vent when drag racing with a mild motor combo. some people at the track said the car had to come with a vent tube, but we couldn't find any evidence of one ever being there.

There should be a tube on top of the tank. It will have a rubber hose going to the left quarter panel. The metal tube inside the quarter panel will go up, curve down, and exit at the bottom.

The 64 and 65 Comet share the same gas tank, it do not have a vent tube.., at least my 64 Comet tank didn't and I haven't seen one on any of the 64-65 Comet tanks in the salvage yards. But the weird things is I believe the 63 Comet tank has one on the top of the tank about 3" over from the filler tube.
