Rear Disc Brakes from what?

Hey guys looking into rear disc brake options for my '64 Falcon. Currently has a small bearing 9 inch that is narrowed 2" compared to the stock 8".
Surfing the web has revealed several very expensive aftermarket kits but I'm a bit of a more time than money guy so junk yard swaps are usually easier for me. Looking on e-bay (I know) there are several similar small bearing kits (Used) salvaged from some other vehicles.

Any Idea what vehicles these are harvested from and what Modifications are needed to the axle flanges to make them work? any other options?
Side note; I already have a GeoMetro power brake set-up for the car and granada front disc's installed.
Any info is always appreciated.
Russ.....

Re: Rear Disc Brakes from what?

Scarebird Classic Brakes has a small bearing 8/9 inch bracket for around $100. I order there bracket for the front disk brakes. Very well made piece, I thought.

They send you the bracket, and a parts list of stuff you can get from a local parts store new. The front disk setup I have uses GM calipers and 2WD ranger rotors. I priced the entire front disk conversion on my Falcon, including the price of the brackets, at ~$360. I thought that was pretty good.

Just something else to look into and consider. Scarebird has some stuff on ebay as well.

Re: Rear Disc Brakes from what?

I used the scarebird setup on my Comet rear. It's a pretty good setup. The brackets were 105.00 and it come with instructions and a list of parts necessary to complete the installation, I installed the whole thing for less than $250.00. You have to do a little modifiing to get the rotors to clear the axle flange. You can use an angle grinder to knock off about a 1/4" of metal off the axle flange, I just paid the machine shop $20.00 to lathe the 1/4" off both axles, it was much cleaner look. Everthing else just bolted into place. They stop very good.

$105.00 brackets from Scarebird
$51.00 Chevy Lumina rotors
$20.00 Two used Eldorado calipers they have E-Brake setup on them
$18.00 Two caliper rebuild kits- Oriell auto
$21.00 Two Caprice brake hose
$20.00 Machine shop service
$235.00 Total
