AOD for 60's 170/200

I know I've seen adapters adapting a 4/6cyl 5 speed to the 170/200's. But has anyone ever adapted an automatic overdrive to the early 170/200's? Any info or advice on were to start? Thanks, Chris

I am looking for articles about adapting the 4/6 cyl 170/200 to a 5 speed. Could you help me locate what you have seen?

I would also like to know. I have never seen anything but 177,303, and Dagenham 4spds, behind those engines,

Re: AOD for 60's 170/200

I saw a post on Fordsix.com where someone drilled the V8 AOD bellhousing for the top bolt holes, and then used a 300 I-6 flywheel to bolt the torque converter to. Other than that theres no other way to do it that I know of. The bellhousing bolt pattern on the 6 cyl blocks is different from the ones the V8's have. They made a few 200 blocks with the V8 bellhousing pattern, but they are hard to find.
