64 comet caliente

ive found a comet,, 2 dr hard top,, 302 built engine 4 speed top loader, and 9 inch rear end with posi trac,, white with white and sea foam interior all in great shape the body is extra clean with no rust, the car is complete, the 2 things i see wrong is the exhaust is hacked up and no headers, also the leaf springs were really to long, shackles hit the frame, no traction bars either, crager wheels and new tires, he wants around 5k for it and i think that is too much, let me know what you think, i know this is a falcon forum, but oh well thought id try here

Re: 64 comet caliente

If it is as clean as you say it is worth the 5k. 64 hard top Calientes have a nice line I'm sure it is a good looking car and with Cragers on it too!
Offer him 4200 and negotiate from there, likely you will score it for 4500 to 4800. Buy your self some traction bars correct the rear spring issue, loose the shackles and you are golden.
What are you waiting for?

People gladly pay that for a rusted out Mustang and I'd much rather have a Caliente. They are one of the nicest looking cars on the road.
Like Ras stated, a few minor fixes and you will have one nice car for five grand.

Re: 64 comet caliente

BTW, this is a Falcon/Comet forum since they are basically the same car with different cosmetics. In other words, they are the same, only different.
