Re: bronco II rear end

Like I said in my other post...
Find a round headlight Granada rear end and it will bolt right in. Too much work and money to make the Bronco rear end to fit. The axle tube need to be removed and cut down to size, spring perches will need to be welded in place. A jig is required for this type work. The Granada rear is more plug & play.

Re: bronco II rear end

No one is trying to beat him up, Jeff told him what would work without a lot of modifications. The only way you can tell if something will work for your application is to measure things up. Some owners use the 8.8 out of later model Explorers by modifying one of the axle tubes and fitting the spring perches. Nothing is a bolt in except what was mentioned with the exception of a 57,58 or 59 and I have no experience with those but the dimensions are very close.
If a person were to take a few hours and read what has been discussed time and time again about the subject in question they would answer many of their own questions and come to their own conclusions.

Re: bronco II rear end

The explorer axle is also factory disc braked after the 1995 model year I believe. I ran one in my Bronco II trail truck for years and loved it. Axle tubes are big, 3" from what I remember. I had a hell of a time locating pre-fabbed spring perches, as they are all for smaller diameter tubes. I'll try to post some pix if I get the chance. Anything inparticular you want a view of?
