390 in a 63

well on my way placing a 390 in my falcon.looking for headers? is an fe mustang the same?mucho close to the steering sector! is the engine offset to the right in a mustang? is there any offset?i could build my own but i would rather buy them. i would like to get the mounts fabricated then buy the headers, but i do not want to take a chance on clearance issues.

Re: 390 in a 63

No the FE mustang didn't come out till 67 and the 60-63 Falcon is the base chassis for the 64-66 Mustang, so you gotta go Mustang II front end or some other form of aftermarket engineering to fin an FE into your 63. The shock towers gotta go also...

Good Luck!

I would say it's more than an inch....The 63 falcon shock towers are narrower than the 65-66 mustangs and the 67 mustang is wider still to accomodate the big blocks...Crites did sell a kit to notch the falcon shock towers for big block clearance..
