Re: bucket seats

If you're looking for some originals cheap, well keep looking is all I can tell you. I looked for over ten years for mine and ended up paying $500. Falconparts.com has a set for $1000. That doesn't meet too many people idea of cheap though. I've got another 250 in covers and 250 in foam and am about to restore mine. I'll post some pics when I'm done.

Re: bucket seats

The best fitting (your body) and most comfortable are 93/94 Mazda 323 Tweed seats!

I have them in my 61 and they are awesome!

Installation is a no brainer, one bolt hole is already there to use the rest are only a drill bit away.

Re: bucket seats

Almost anything will fit with some level of hand tool use. I saw one in Portland with 2008 Scion seats that were brand new takeouts from a customizing shop for $100/pair, and heard someone say the Contour/Mystique seats are a bolt-in. Not sure about that, but at $16.50 each at the local boneyard, worth a stab.

Re: bucket seats

No bucket seat will be an actual bolt in on your bench seat car since your seat only has 4 bolts holding it in a a pair of buckets have 8....

Going with the 323 seats you will need to drill 6 holes and use the outer front hole as the starting point for your new seat.
The forward and rearward movement in our Falcons is enormous! A guy 6.6 can sit comfortable and a girl 5'1 can fit and drive comfortably also...

Re: bucket seats

I have Escort seats in my 64. They were almost perfect when I bought them for $25.00. I had them recovered along with the back seat.
When you remove the head rest it is hard to tell the difference except for the bolsters. They tilt forward and recline which is why I bought them and like FE stated they travel quiet a bit on the tracks for tall or short people. I'm 6'2, 220 and have plenty of room.

I too have 92 Escort seats in my 64. Perfect fit. Paid $20 each at Pick A Part and had them recovered. They're comfy, solid, and dont look too much out of place.
