68 Interior questions

Hi does anyone know what the rubber around the headliner/door frames is called? Also where I can get a new set for a '68. Also if it neccacery to remove the glass to properly change the headliner.

I was thinking about painting my door panels with some vinyl paint, does anybody have experience with that and can tell me if it comes out good? Or any tips would be great

I was also thinking of insalling a carpet kit, would you recommend pulling the rubber flooring thats in it now or leaving it down?

Ok as far as I know the trim you are referring to is called windlace. Yes the headliner goes into the front and rear window seals and requires poping them out. I have never used the vinyl paint so I will leave that one for someone else. I would remove the rubber and lay the carpet over the factory pad if there is one. Otherwise my plan on my 66 once I get it back next week from having the floors welded in. I am shooting POR 15 on the floor front to back, then using peel and seal on the complete floor. If you are not sure what P&S is go to the local Lowes or Builders Square or the like for it. It is tar with aluminum backing and it is the same as Dynomat. I will be laying the carpet over this.
