Have a 62 falcon with a 1965 289, c4 trans. Have a good 1975 c4 trans out of a 6 cylinder car and would like to know if will work on to my 65 289 engine. I know the bellhousings are different, but will my v8 bellhousing bolt to the 6 cylinder c4 trans and work. Any help would be great!!
unless you're going to be easy of it, I won't do it. It should fit, but the clucth packs are weaker in the 6 cyl and won't last long up to the V-8. Unless $$$ is the issue, I'd look for a V-8 C-4.

It according what size 6 cyl you're talking about. The 250 6 cyl and V8's used the same transmissions. The 6 cyl factory converter is a little bit looser than a factory V8 converter. The 200 C4's have less clutch packs. I know nothing about the BIG 6 cyl trans
