'62 RANCHERO drive shaft?

I have a "62 RANCHERO. This car came with a 3-spd.I now have a C-4. The problem is I have a larger drive shaft( not the small FALCON ).The drive shaft hit on the tunnel at the u-joint.I'm not sure if the motor and tranny is on the right angle. So the tail of the tranny will drop and the drive shaft will work. How do I check this I heard one way is the carborator needs to be level. Or the tranny tunnel is to small.I made the trans mount and it may be wrong. What drive shaft should be used? Thanks for any and alll help! Ken N.

Re: '62 RANCHERO drive shaft?

If the shaft is hitting it's HUGE, or the tranny mount needs changed.

The carb does not need to be exactly level. It will work at many angles.

I suggest that you mod your tranny mount to be 1 to 1.5 inches lower. If it does not clear then, you really need a different driveshaft.
