Re: 65-66 differences ????

Well, in '66 the Falcon was built on the Fairlane platform {a complete re-design} so I'd imagine it's both longer AND wider. '66 to '70's are nicknamed "Big Birds". '64-'65's are "Square" bodies and '60 to '63's are "Round" bodies. '66 to '70's use quite a few parts from same year Fairlanes, Torinos, Rancheros and Comets.

Re: 65-66 differences ????

I agree with what is stated below. I have the 66 and I dont know of anything that is interchangable between the 65 and 66. Sorry.

He meant stated above

64-65 are very close and you can probably interchange all of the parts...

Re: 65-66 differences ????

I'm not sure if all the parts are interchangeable, but a goodly number should be.

Re: 65-66 differences ????

Early 64s with a V8 use a different and pricey tie rod ends. Just replaced an outer left and payed $80 for it. It was nos with a date on the FOMOCO of 8/68. Also it was somewhat hard to find.

I own one of each , most parts will change . Different trim package . 64 generator 65 alternator . Early 64 powersteering , like mine is obslete , but can change to 65 by replacing all steering parts . Lots of mustang mechanical parts fit . Otherwise it's the same car . I read someplace less 64 falcon futuras sold new because of the 64 1/2 mustang was comming on the market and hurt the falcon sales . In 65 it picked up again after the new wore off on the mustang .

Re: 65-66 differences ????

The new didn't wear off the mustang until early to mid 66....
