Disc Spindles And Rear End For My Falcon..

I have a line on a 72 torino. Will the spindles off of it work for my 66 falcon ? What all do i need to grab off the donor car besides the actual disc set up.

It also has a 3:00 9 inch locker in it. are the rears in a torino wider than the rear in mine? and if so, does any one know how much wider is it livable with the right offset wheels?

and last question.. WIll i have to relocate the spring perches to mount the rear or is it a bolt on project.

I AM PUTTING A 429 IN MY CAR so i want to do all this stuff to it while i am waiting to get my stuff back from the machine shop

thanks all!

Cheers!
Mike

'72 is a full frame car like the Thunderbirds and MarkV. Rear is too wide (by about 6 inches) and has coil spring brackets instead of leaf. Front suspension is completely different too.

I don't think so. I don't know as much as others do, on this subject. But I think you need to look at the mid size cars instead of the full size. Fairlanes, and Torinos, Mustangs up to 71 and not before 66. Some one else might know of others.

Re: Disc Spindles And Rear End For My Falcon..

you need to get a ford interchange manual.
spindles can come from 68-69 comet fairlane torino ranchero montego cougar mustang montego or fairlane wagons also maybe more.
some say the 70 spindles are better larger rotor i think.
tha master booster needs to come from a fairlane torino falcon montego.
when you get the booster get the bracket that mounts it to the fire wall.
it is a special bracket that raises the master booster up so it clears the shock tower.
get the brake pedal while your there.
rebuilt master booster is at leats 100$ less from napa than the same one from som specailty store.
get a booster from a doner car it has an 80$ core on it.
rearend from a 68-69 torino montego fairlane should be a bolt in.
ranchero mustang cougar rear will work but the spring mounts need to be moved.
ill try to send you some pics of the booster and bracket.
good luck

Re: Disc Spindles And Rear End For My Falcon..

I believe the 76 / 77 granada spindles will work on 66 . I had them on my 64 falcon for a few years , then decided to go back with drum brakes to restore it back closer to original . I was unable to find 64 falcon 5 lug drums and spindles so I used 66 fairlaine drum and spindle . I had to use the fairlaine tie rod end as it is a different size than the falcon . I thought the 66 fairlane and 66 falcon used the same spindle , if so the granada spindle should bolt on . JIM

The Granada's will work, and so will any Mustang up to and including 1973, Maverick also.
