Window Glass Gaskets

Can anyone suggest a company for front and rear windshield glass for our '64 Comets? Some tend to fit up better than others. I'd appreciate it. Know theres a few out there, but personal preferences?? Fit and finish??

Thanks- Dale

Re: Window Glass Gaskets

Any of the glass companies should be able to get the glass if it is available or being made. call some of your local glass shops.
I bought my new windshield from a local company (DR Glass) and they came to my house and installed it and installed my rear also while they were here. I had the gaskets.
When I called, I asked if they had experience with the older cars. This guy had previously restored a 60's Mustang of his own.
The price was right also. So far so good after three years or so.

I was not aware that the rear glass was available anymore. I know the windshield is, but I thought you were on your own finding a used rear window for the hardtops.

I was actually asking about the "gaskets". Thread title. I actually think the front and rear glass is in great shape for its age!!

That is what I understood too..

My w/s gaskets were a bit too big. I got them at a swap meet, sat on them for five-ten years and then... then vendor was long out of business.

You think the common Falcon ones are to big or too small then?

I know that several Falcon part numbers came back to life as they interchange certain things with other autos.

Re: Window Glass Gaskets

If anyone is useing older front windshield moldings and they seem a bit stiff, soak them for a few minutes in anti freeze. It softens them up a bit and lubricates them for the "roping in" process. I manage an automotive glass store in Edmonton alberta and that is what my installers do. Front windshields are still available from North American and off shore manufacturers. Don't pay more than $250.00 installed.
