greetings!

i have been reading the falcon forum (all 13 pages) for the last 2 weeks or more (1 guests) ..... just picked up a 1960 tudor rolling chassis, stock susp, all glass is there, grill, hood, trunk lid, back seat is there,no rust except for the left and right floor boards.....had a 289 and four speed at one time but not there now. trying to decide....hotrod,cruiser,hotrod,cruiser??? like to have good driving with decent performanceand not have a weiner in an yugo eat my lunch. found a 351w/c6 in a 1` ton van...also 351c /c4 in a complete 68 mustang, diff unknown..lots of 302s. any way have got tons of good info from all the guys here so thanks a million, just sayin howdy!!!

Re: greetings!

Welcome to the forums! You can get the windsor in there, but you better have a pretty big shoe horn and the right headers. Ive seen clevelands in falcons too, but you better have an even bigger shoe horn to do it. The c6 wont fit for sure, but the c4 will be fine. My advice is to use a 289/302 with aluminum heads and a c4 for good power, light weight, and easy fit. Like I said, the cleveland will fit, but itll be pretty tight and its pretty heavy too (150lbs more, depending) compared to an aluminum headed 302.

Re: greetings!

The easiest way to put a 351W into a '60-'65 Falcon is to put Rack n Pinion steering in, then you can take the shock towers out and have all kinds of room.

But as previously mentioned, you could put in a 289/302 and easily "trick" her out and save a few pounds on the front end.

There are a lot of fellow enthusiasts in this column, so ask any question then prepare for the answers.

Re: greetings!

thanx to all that replied....is there any way to use the mll stock crossmember on the 60 falcon?? i have priced the kits and seems like for alot of sweat and cussin a guy could do it himself out of junkyard parts?? for lack of funds most of this project will be a ratfink hodge-podge anyway....so, 302,c-4, easy to get. finding a posi seems a bit harder as most cars never had one ( hensteeth ) and junkyards dont know what they have. anyway, all help and advice is much appreciated..i have wanted a round body forever and im like a kid waitin on santa.........

Re: greetings!

With a Rod & Custom kit there won't be no cussing and a lot of sweat. Trying to get a junkyard crossmember installed and setup will be a lot of cussing & sweating.

You don't need a MII or R&P. Check out JUST JIM in the members section.

Re: greetings!

I put a stock crossmember in my 65 and my neighbor has intalled one in each of his early round body falcons. It is not too difficult even for a fairly novice fabricator.
