What is it ??

I am in the process of buying my 1st Falcon. Problem is I don't know what it is the bumper the hood and grill all say its a 1960 but the VIN plate says it's a 1963. How can I tell what it is.

Thats a 1960 grill.

The VIN should be stamped in two places. First will be the drivers side coil tower brace under the hood (the brace that runs from the fire wall to the coil tower). The second would be the tag on the drivers door. But if the door has been the replaced, all bets are off. Another place to look would the title and/or registration card. For the record, that is a 1960 grill.

That's not a Falcon.... It's a Gremlin...


Why worry about what the hood and bumper are... If the title and tags and vin plate say 63 then it's a 63...

Buy a 63 hood and bumper... That bumper looks like my 61 bumper.

Yes it could have had the front end sheetmetal changed..Looks like the car made a sudden stop and the driver didn't!

Better yet, Ignore the warranty plate and check the front Drivers side Brace. The Vin # should be on it.

Look under BOTH inner Fenders also, but you must remove the fender to see them.

The front end sheet metal will not swap betreen the early round Falcons and the latter ones of two years. Bolt hole positions are different, the fender lengths are different, etc. They only appear to be the same. Try it. You will readily see the differences.

Those rivets on the data plate are not original rivets either.

The car is as fake as the poster....
