New leaf springs or re arch?

I will be needing leaf springs for my 64 falcon and was wondering where you guys have found that has good quality with good price. And has anyone ever had leafs re arched or is this a bad idea?
When its done it will be a street driven race car. 351w stroked to 427.

If you are going throught the truoble of building the car you ar describing, I would buy new springs.

About 10 years ago, I had a 66 Falcon with a 351W, with an Edlebrock RPM cam, heads, and intake. Car ran great. I called Eaton Springs and they made up a pair of leaf springs for my car that were of similar design to the Mopar Super Stock springs of the late 1960's. The lower leafs were longer in front of the axle to limit twist in the spring, like built-in traction bars. They were less than $200.00 a set then, and well worth it. Oh, car sat good and the ride was not too stiff.

Re: New leaf springs or re arch?

I'm running the Calvert (the people that make Cal-Tracs) slit mono-leafs on my '69 Falcon wagon.

The first springs lowered the car too much. I sent them an e-mail, they called me back and I took a bunch of measurements for them as we were talking. A few days later, a new set of rear-halfs arrived via UPS. They put the height EXACTLY where I needed it.

I let them know, and they told me to leave the old halves on my front porch. UPS picked them up the next day. I did not have to pay ANY of the shipping costs!

Best customer service I've come across.

In switching out the engine combo, the re-arching will not work any more. The spting shop will tell you that.

You now need a whole new pair of springs that can take the torque figures your engine is about to deliver. Be sure to specify this when ordering. And don't forget to mention the shock absorber mounting confusion.
