What all did you do to set that up to run on that stand? I want to bench test a motor, but have never done it before. Thanks for the info!

ok heres what you do, get some 2" square tubing and make a box with it . Use the measurements from the distance you get from each motormount that is bolted to the engine and make the box top rails are that wide. Weld ears on top of the top rail for the mounts to bolt too. For the back of the engine I simply made a bolt on plate that has several bolt patterens for Ford and Chevy bellhousings , this way it is fully adjustable and takes minimal effort to support the back of the engine. Next, Make a easy mount for a small radiator in the front, a normal sized rad is not needed because there is no load on the test stand and will not tend to overheat. Use universal Dayco flex hose to hook it all up and make a guage pod on the same stand so you can watch oil pressure and temp at one spot.
I also welded a battery box on the side and a starting and arming switch to turn the ignition off and on. All I use is a old furnace fan for the radiator cooling and I have no problem breaking in cams for 30 min etc. If its all done right it will fit any engine and exhaust combo nad even different makes of engines as well. They are very simple and I have even seen them bolted together so they could be taken apart for easy storage as well, Draw it all up first and you shouldnt have any problems making your own!
