Mini V/8 Engines

There are probably a couple dozen super talented machinist building these mini V/8 engines. The engines really don't have a practical use,but it is neat to hear them run.It would be super to have one on a go cart.

If only you could get a real life V8 to rev like one of those things...

Re: Mini V/8 Engines

There's a group of guys around here building those things. You can search "Bay area engine modelers" (BAEM) for more info. They show up at most of the bigger car shows and set up a display. They are simply awesome to see and hear in person. You get a close up of unfinished engines and see the detail. My favorites were the miniature Harleys. They've got a little of everything from VW to four cyl Offys, and even supercharged as the one in the video. You can buy a very rough cast kit that needs all the machining finished, a true test for any gear head.

MAN as a "former" R/C car nut, id love to build a "little" pro-mod 1/4 scale Mustang around one of those. That thing would be scary to "drive"
As a Machinist my whole life, i can say that the internals would Facinate me to no end.
