Agreed on the camera guy! What good was it to have John move when he was going to just point the camera to the ground! Please post more video with your new cameraman. From what I saw it was very nice, and left me wanting more!

Re: A 2000rpm 1/8 mile launch

Race cars are a dime a dozen, but good camera guys are worth their weight in gold.

I've got lots of videos of the trees, the roof, and my car out of focus. Only one or two worth a darn. It is easier for me to cut a 1.60 second 60'er than it is to get it on film. LOL

Re: A 2000rpm 1/8 mile launch

Camera man Wanted.

* Must have both eyes AND 2 arms. Or at least one of each.

* Can Not be suffering from shaky DT's because he or she needs a beer.

* Must understand the operation of a video recorder and what he is told to focus on.
Also, the focusing capabilities of the camera being used.

* Knows not to speak while filming. So the sound of the car can be heard.

* Can provide their own tripod, when one is not given to them to use.

* knows to zoom to the scoreboard at the end of the run. AND which one!

* Must know how much time he has to get in position for filming.

* Must know the Position of lens cap AND RECORD button at all times.

* Must have NO excuses of why the run was not captured!

* Must be able to hold their head low and not reply while they are being cussed
because they screwed up!

Anymore requirements for a good camera man people?

I'd film it myself, but I won't let anyone drive my car! So, good cameraman needed.

Re: A 2000rpm 1/8 mile launch

Another option is set up one on a tripod let it run and just have your buddy watch it. (do not touch!!)

Last event we Held the Camera Guy Filmed more Girls Butts than cars !!! And as soon as a car pulled to the line and left hes started filming the next burn-out rather than watch in the run !?!?!?!?

Re: A 2000rpm 1/8 mile launch

I can relate guys..The last time I had my car to the track my dad managed to get an ultra close up of the lens cap and lots of great footage of the sky and grass. .Also some very unfocused runs of the car going down the track as he struggled to figure out the zoom feature....I'd love to set up an in car camera but I don't know how I would mount it without a roll cage?

Tape it to the head rest or the back package tray.

Re: A 2000rpm 1/8 mile launch

I use a weight clamp. put a stud in it with a nut and screw the cam on to it . secure it with the nut and use duct tape from side to side for vibration . Works great !
