Carpet dye

Does anyone know of a source for obtaining carpet dye? My 62 has carpet that is in good shape but faded. Color is red.

Artex carpet and vinyl dye works well, especially if you're not changing the color. It's available primarily to new and used car dealers prep shops. Works tons better than the stuff you get at car parts places and department stores.

Dye's can be purchased from a local reputable paint supply store. Take them a sample of your original color. Trim off a piece from under your door sill plates. They also sell a prep to clean the original carpet properly prior to application. Where I live the smallest amount they will mix is one pint and it cost me $29. It is applied with a touch up gun and for the carpet rubbed in with a stiff bristle brush. I plan to dye a original 64 dash this weekend or next from black to Navy.
