throttle linkage

Will be running a c-6 behind my 406 in my 64 . does the c-6 require a throttle rod to operate. reason why: I'd like to eliminate the bell crank and run more positive linkage to my 2/4s.

throttle linkage

Hello, while the C6 can work without the kickdown lever/rod in place it will not kickdown manually. It will wait for the vacuum to shift it and it will up-shift very quickly. It's not a fully mechanical linkage like a Mopar. In my experience it will not hurt the trans by removing the linkage, just make it shift weird. I hope that is what you meant.
