starting?!?!?

i have a problem and its with the starting of my 390 in my galaxie now i put a holley 670 stree avenger on it and i havent touched and all i did was adjust the curb idle so it would idle smooth and i dont think that has anything to do with it now when i get up in the mornin it starts with no problem and when i go somewhere for 10 mins and come back out it doesnt start in the first try when i turn the key it starts like 2 secs later i think it has to do with the way my fuel line is routed and when i let the engine sit after i go somewhere the temp goes up some and it cuases it to get too hot.
has anybody ever experienced this? if so how do i fix it?

You might want to try resetting the carb just for precaution. It wouldn't hurt. Sounds like possibly your floats need adjustment? Just an idea...

As for the temperature going up after the car is turned off. That's pretty normal I think since your fan shuts off when the engine shuts off. The only way to get beyond this is to get an electric fan which will cool the engine to the temperature it's set at, even after the engine's turned off.
