I took it in the shorts on Ebay for a console plate

I am trying to juggle a Mustang and a Galaxie restoration and have been buying parts for both when they are available and funds dictate. I got sniped on a console plate auction a while back for a 4 speed Galaxie. I finally snagged one and the total cost was $528.00 shipped. It was excessive but the seller said it had a some pits in the chrome and that wouldn't be bad for a 40 year old part. Well, the part arrived and a few pits was a downright lie. The thing was just above junk status. I took it to A&A Bumper plating in Independence Mo. and am having them rechrome it. They cannot guarantee they will get them out but its gonna cost an additional $168.00. The seller isn't returning e-mails and lives in Canada. The final cost for the console plate is going to be about $690.00. Hows that for a piece of a console? I was willing to pay the money for a decent piece but this guy flat out lied and it smokes my @@@S. The bad part is I will continue to buy off the auction and others on the internet, cannot let one bad apple ruin the whole barrel
Thanks for letting me vent...
BTW auction # 2414402531

I couldn't get any more pictures. As for the description I'm not gonna call it accurate at all due to the part being total junk. The console plate wasn't even a good 20 footer. The right side edge looked like sandpaper it had so many "some" pits. Oh well, I got it and the rechrome shop is gonna try to save it as best as possible. At this point I probably would be happy with a 6 footer. Lets hope it does come out better than that though...
BTW, I am auctioning the rest of the console, do a search and get the real description...

You are lucky to get that plate at all! Ive only ever seen ONE in a junkyard from a 4 speed car, and the biggest mistake in my whole life was not buying it for 10 bucks when I saw the thing in 1980!!!! LOL Sorry you are pissed, but I have accurately discribed things on Ebay to sell, and some people STILL dont like the description or dont understand english or something. Again, not a bust on you, you are probably right on this one. At least it sounds like it. STEVE

My "trust" limit is $50.00, after that I want pictures, and if it is made of plastic or other high wear material, I want close ups and a phone call.

I'm way past suspicious...I even use a mirror to check that there is no thieving going on behind my back, when I get my own wallet out of my back pocket.
