KULTULZ and GregCook, Where do you get your data plate decoding information? Is there someplace online? I have been trying to figure out if Ford uses similar codes for the axles on all their cars or if they use different codes for each family of cars.

When I found the decode for my 64 I just started searching for 64 galaxie vin decode and different variations and found a couple of them.

Here's some production statistics if you are interested.

Them stats on that page are wrong. it says 406 had hydraulic
lifters,it also does not mention hi-po 390 had solids.

Is there any specific numbers you wanted to know about or just in general? I have a parts identifier for 60-67s with the break down of the numbers on the axle if there was something specific.

A friend and I are looking for a couple of limited slip differentials for cars we are each building. We hit on the idea of looking at the door data plate rather than crawling around under every Ford in sight. Any data plate codes for limited slip axles you have will help our search.
Thanks

on the door tag, if it has a letter for the axle its a Equa-lock, if a number its a pegleg.
