Tail lights out?

Hey guys,
I noticed today my Brakelights and tail lights were out on my 64, but they still blink for turn signals? Any suggestions? Thanks for any replies and a great forum!

I'd suspect the turn signal switch regardess of the indicators working. Everything goes through that point in the brake stop and turn circuits.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had the steering wheel off so I will look there first.

It could be just corrosion on the wires where they connect. I had problems with mine a couple times. Cleaned all the connectors to the switch and also found that the plug going into the firewall for the brake lights was corroded and also look at the fuse holder. It took using a dremel to clean them up so that I had all my lights again. We also cleaned the connectors to the taillights in the trunk.
